FAIR & Reproducible Teaching with Quarto & Git
University of Hamburg
Website
Description
Teaching activities occupy a significant portion of researchers’ working time. Substantial effort and expertise go into developing teaching materials. However, these valuable learning resources are rarely created in ways that support reproducible reuse and collaborative extension, as promoted by the principles of open and FAIR science.
In this one-day workshop, lecturers at the University of Hamburg are invited to learn how to develop open educational resources (OER) — such as presentations and websites — using the version control system Git and the technical publishing framework Quarto. By combining these tools, educators can produce high-quality, reproducible teaching materials that are collaboratively developed in a FAIR and transparent manner.
